Tharisa Minerals believes mining should drive positive change, especially within the communities where we operate. We support our local communities by creating jobs and helping small businesses grow.
One way we do this is through our Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMME) incubation programme. In partnership with Lepharo, a non-profit organisation, we provide business training, technical skills, and mentorship. This helps local entrepreneurs navigate the early challenges of running a business.

Global Sani Solutions is one of the businesses benefiting from our support. This women- and youth-led company is based in Rustenburg. They focus on environmental science, renewable energy, waste management, and conservation.
Global Sani Solutions has a total of 13 employees, all of whom are from Mmaditlhokwa, a community located next to Tharisa Minerals.
Prince Mphomane, Managing Director at Global Sani Solutions says “Our partnership with Tharisa began in 2022, and since then, they’ve been a valuable supporter. Not only have they awarded work to our company, but they’ve also been instrumental in helping us improve our business through various enterprise supplier development opportunities”.
In 2024, Tharisa partnered with Global Sani Solutions on an Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) project. We provided them with a vacuum truck, known as a "honeysucker," for sewage removal. This vehicle helps maintain sewage systems, especially in rural areas where sanitation services are limited. By improving sanitation, we’re not just maintaining infrastructure - we’re helping to uphold the dignity of the community, ensuring safer, cleaner environments for residents to thrive.
